Truth and grunge

Hello hello!  Gayle here with another project to share with you today using Andy Skinner's 'Letting Off Steam' set of stamps - really loving these as there are great images to use in the background as well as main features.  Really feeling grungy this week and wanted to use the sentiment from the set as a central piece :)

The background of this tag is inked in squeezed lemonade, peeled paint and dusty concord Distress Ink, and  the sentiment in the centre and the surrounding design is stamped with black Archival ink.  I stamped the surrounding images again in picket fence Distress Stain to give it a layered effect and built up the darkness around the edges with dusty concord and aged mahogany Distress Ink.
The silver sprockets, spinners and mini gears are all Tim Holtz Idea-ology, and the grungepaper flower is from the tattered florals Alterations die, coloured with spiced marmalade Distress Stain (as is the crumpled ribbon at the top of the tag).  Loving the splashes of orange against the dark colours in the background!
You can find everything used here at The Stamp Attic which is full of all sorts of cool stuff :) go take a peek!

Thanks for visiting today, and enjoy the rest of your weekend!
