When the weather outside is frightful.................

Today was the second of two days of workshops at The Stamp Attic, with Hels Sheridan. I was working on Saturday so did not get much of a look in but today.................well...............I played!!! Along with 6 other lovely ladies, Caz, Florence, Barbara, Gayle, Suzanne and Tracy...........
We had enough cake to compete with Mr Kipling, including this amazing Pumpkin and Walnut, made by Galye and believe me, it was yummy, thanks Gayle.
and here she is..............
So, here is my effort.............
Not the most amazing photo as its from my phone but you get the gist..............this was an 8x8 canvas board, painted with Fresco Paints from PaperArtsy, then Crackle Glaze, again PaperArtsy, and then more paint. The crackle you get with just a thin coat is amazing, anyone can do this and succeed. We thinned a layer of paint down by mixing with Distress Stains, this added a touch of deeper detail to the crackle. By combining three closely matched shades of the paint you can achieve graded tones with ease. I used Vintage Lace, Mushroom and London Night............with Vintage Photo Distress Stain.
After using Archival Ink to stamp some details on the board, I used some of the new Dylusions images, we used Cut and Dry to colour die cuts. Using the paint as the 'sticky' base on some pieces we triple embossed them in clear and added sprinkles of either gold or silver embossing powders to give them some sparkle. The panels you can see are made from Claudine's sticky back canvas on mount board, it gives just enough rise when stuck down to give a 3D effect.
A famous 'Hels' flower. These were made from plain card......painted, Distress Stained and then stamped in paint and archival ink.
Some more Dylusions stamps and a triple embossed bird.............
I really enjoyed the whole day, I spend so little time 'playing' these days so thank you to Hels and Caz for forcing my hand.
More of the workshop photos to follow.............I am just running out of puff tonight..............

You have done a wonderful job on your canvas, that cake didn't look too bad either. It looks like everyone had lots of fun.
