Happy New Year to you all.............sorry I have been absent over the festive period, there has been a lot going on.
The two people in the photo above are my son Steve and his girlfriend Louise, who made our Christmas this year in more ways than one! First was the announcement that they were engaged, on Christmas Day, he proposed on top of a hill, in the snow on one knee.... and she said yes............how amazing is that, we are so happy. Second, well they are going to make us grandparents in June this year too............a double whammy as they say.........
Needless to say we are over the moon, I am beyond excited at the prospect of my first grandchild, it is going to be one very spoilt child (I am allowed, I checked) but from what I am being told by my friends this is quite normal behaviour. Wedding date, well not before baby but they are thinking maybe later in the year or early next year..........too much excitement for one granny I can tell you LOL.
Apart from our wonderful news our Christmas passed fairly quietly really. My DH is ill, still ill, got the cold/flu thingy and still has it......I ended up with sinus issues and still have that..............all in all we just vegged out and our cupboards are still fairly full as we were not feeling very much like eating, hey ho, less time to spend in Sainsbury's which is fine by me..........hate shopping! Well food shopping anyhow, did some girl shopping with some friends during the week, we had a great day out at the Sales and bought a few bargain goodies.
Today we went to the Theatre. We have a company here in Oxford called the Oxford Creation Theatre Company and they do performances throughout the year in some very unique settings. In the summer we saw Romeo and Juliet on top of the Oxford Business School, so decided to see the winter performance of Rapunzel in the Mirror Tent at the Oxford Mini Plant.
Now this is the worst photo ever of the outside of the tent but I just could not get the camera to get a decent one in the light available. The tent is over 100 years old and is made of wood with a fabric roof. It was rescued from the tip by a company in the Netherlands and each winter it comes to Oxford Mini Plant for the festive season.
One of the rather endearing features of these productions is the food, they always do something far more interesting than crisps and coke!
Happy New Year to you all................
