We have had these stencils in stock for a few weeks now and they have gone down a storm, especially with our Art Journalers, but what about cards? Tracy Evans, our newest DT member has been using the leaves stencil to create a beautiful autumnal card.
For this piece Tracy used Distress Inks in Antique Linen, Rusty Hinge, Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint.
She applied them directly to the background and spritzed with water, then sponged through the stencil with Wild Honey, Forest Moss, Peeled Paint and Rusty Hinge.
For the smaller layer she used the same process but this time covered it with clear embossing powder for a dimensional look. The leaf embellishment has been handmade by sponging versamagic inks, using the stencil, onto shrink plastic. Finished off with a Maya Road Leaf Trinket Pin.
The wording 'leaves' has been hand stitched on the card.
I love this piece as it shows you can utilise these stencils for more than just journal pages............
